Scalloped home decor adds and element of charm to any space. I love using them in cozy book nooks, nurseries and children’s spaces, and any place that you want to feel a little more whimsical. I’ve listed my favorite places to incorporatoe scallops into your home.
1. Paint them on your wall
Give your walls a facelift with some scallops! Paint is such an easy way to change up the look of your space, and painting a scalloped design is a great way to add some character to your space.
Layering colored scallops or adding different sizes is a super playful way to add a twist to you scalloped design. I would love to put these in a playroom, a child’s bedroom or a craft room!
2. Put up scalloped shelves
In need of something cute to put on your wall? A floating shelf with scalloped trim is perfect!
3. Add them to your tables
Dining tables, console tables, coffee tables oh my! A scalloped apron on your tables will go a long way in adding some charm to your surfaces.
4. Color block the ceiling
Paint that fifth wall! The ceiling is such a great place to paint a fun color and then bring it down the walls with a little scalloped edge.
5. Add them to the backsplash
Either with tile or a cut piece of stone, adding scallops to the backsplash of your bathroom is such a fun way to add some character to your bathroom.
6. Paint the doorways
Tell me this doesn’t look like the entrance to the most magical fairy land. This simple border will definitely make a statement!
7. Switch out your lampshades
Don’t mind me as I casually think about switching out every light fixture I own into something with scallops. How are these all so adorable? I love them all.
8. Use fish scale tiles in the shower
Fish scale tiles are perfect for adding a scalloped edge to the top of your tiling project. They give the perfect unique border to the top of a shower area. Use a contrasting paint color to really make them stand out, or keep the paint color similar to the tile for a more classic, monochrome look.
9. Use them in your furniture
Whether a bookcase, dresser or sideboard, a subtle scalloped edge can add that extra little bit of whimsy to the piece.
